On the other hand, PUBG was first released as a PC game, which was popular among the gamers as PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds. The aim to launch for mobile devices was to bring the realistic battle royale experience on the small screen.
People still prefer to play PUBG on PC because of its heavy specifications. Free Fire gained more momentum after PUBG was banned in India due to data privacy concerns along with 117 other Chinese apps. Free Fire was the primary alternative available to the gamers successfully filling in the void.
PUBG was re-released in India in May 2021. The Indian version of PUBG was renamed to Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI), for which, the PUBG studios started pre-registrations. However, the gamers were already divided into two armies promoting both the games equally. Then, who is the father?
